Artistic Practice
This page brings together personal and collaborative artistic projects, each exploring the space where analog meets digital. Some were born from close collaborations with other artists, a process of mutual discovery where different sensibilities and disciplines converge. Others are more solitary, driven by the need to express something personal without compromise.

Ikebana + Digital
Ikebana + Digital is an ongoing personal project exploring the meeting point between ikebana and digital art. Projected animation and lighting are introduced into the composition, not to overwhelm the flowers, but to enhance their inherent beauty, adding a restrained layer of motion that subtly guides the eye while preserving the balance between the organic and the digital.

Parted - Body Tracking and Projection Mapping
PARTED is a full body projection mapping piece starring Mari Katayama, where the projection follows every joint and muscle closely enough to feel like a second skin. Born from years of experimentation, it marks a new level of accuracy in body projection mapping, with visuals strongly inspired by the Japanese painter Ito Jakuchu. The piece questions the relationship between identity and technology, and the perception of beauty and taboo within our societies.

The Lady in the Wood
The Lady in the Wood is a real-time markerless facial projection mapping piece, shot in a small forest near Mount Fuji. Strongly inspired by the Mexican legend of Santa Muerte and Christian iconography, it stands apart from my other work in its Western cultural influences, exploring a territory where death, beauty and the sacred coexist. It was also the first time the system was taken out of studio conditions and into the wild.

OMOTE / Real-time Face Tracking & Projection Mapping
An artistic project where makeup meets real-time face tracking and projection mapping technology. It turns a human face into a living canvas, casting an animated mask onto the face with such precision that the projection stops looking projected, and starts to look like something the face was never meant to become. When it was released in 2014, OMOTE touched something deep in people, resonating with audiences worldwide and carving out a new territory at the intersection of art, beauty and technology.
